Reverend Deborah Reynolds wasn't expecting to fall for-or over-Sam Perry, one of the groomsmen at the wedding she was officiating. But when Sam answered her door early the next morning and greeted the biggest gossip in town, Deborah found herself in hot water with her congregation. She never imagined soon after she would be flying cross country with Sam and broadening her horizons by visiting a nudist beach, learning the paths of ants, and falling in love. But there were still her life and vocation at home to consider. Ministers don't believe in Prince Charming, don't wear brightly-colored lipstick, and certainly don't steal kisses in the church pantry!

Can Sam Perry convince the Reverend that even a woman of the cloth can have happily ever after?

Excerpt:

Deborah closed her eyes and reached her hands up to cover her face. Her guilt, or innocence, was of very little consequence once a rumor got started. No matter what did or didn't happen between them, she'd be known as a floozy by tomorrow morning. Just in time for church.

"Can't we just explain...?"

Deborah laughed humorlessly and turned to her side away from him. As if anybody would believe them.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have answered the door."

"It doesn't matter. Lucy probably would have parked in the front yard and waited until the owner of that car came out to claim it."

"Maybe we could say I'm a cousin, or something."

Deborah sat up and glared at him. "I can't lie! If they catch me in the lie, then I'll look guilty for sure."

Sam didn't say anything. He just stared at some point above her head.

"You might as well crawl in the bed with me and ravish me because that's what everybody's going to be saying happened."

"I concur." He leaned forward and kissed Deborah within an inch of her life.

He sat back with a satisfied grin on his lips. "I've never ravished anybody before. Do you think that's enough to make what the gossipmongers are saying true?"
