By mid-afternoon, as Elise led her from the manicure-pedicure area, Rebecca saw Angie and Aries wrapped in pink sheets on adjoining tables, while Tom sat in the jacuzzi, eyes closed, face turned to the sun.

"Why don't you spend a few minutes in the jacuzzi before your facial?" Elise suggested.

"Um, sure." Rebecca walked to the edge, remembered she was naked under her pink robe, and hoped the turban and sunglasses made her unrecognizable.

Tom looked up. "Rebecca, it's nice to see you again."

She nodded and tightened the belt of her robe. Poking one toe into the bubbling whirlpool, she said, "I think it's too warm."

"Sit for a minute. I wanted to ask if you are planning to come to my seminar."

"Do you think I'd like that kind of thing?" She sat down on the rim and slipped her feet into the bubbles, snugging the robe around her thighs.

"Maybe spirits are waiting to talk with you. I take messages." He grinned, shaded his eyes, and squinted. "Or, if you prefer, you could just watch."

She smiled. Tom was charming in a boyish way and she was beginning to forget that weird episode at the river. "George, my hotel concierge, said I need to do some very Sedona things. Would it be a very Sedona thing to do?"

"Absolutely. Very Sedona! Then, you'll come?"

"I'll think about it." The voice inside told her, Say yes.

"Please."

While he talked to her and kept eye contact, he moved around the circumference of the jacuzzi and now stood looking up at her. She looked down into the bubbling water. He wore no bathing suit. Now, she was really getting warm. Her sunglasses slid down her nose. She poked them back. Little Rebecca said, Go ahead and look. Nothing we haven't seen before.
