"We've seen several really nice houses today. Have you seen anything you like?"
He heaved a loud sigh. "What do you think of this last one?" His attitude was far from interested and anything but enthusiastic--two surefire signs this wasn't the house for him.
"Oh, no," she chuckled, shaking her head. "I don't offer that kind of advice to a client."
"Don't think of me as a client, think of me as the man who wants to rock your world."
The look he cast her made everything inside her turn to liquid. "All the more reason to keep my opinions to myself," she told him with a sly, sideward glance.
Joel barked a laugh. "Do you have any idea how hard it's been walking into all these bedrooms and knowing there's nothing I can do to you in any of them?"
"No," she said with a playful pout as she slid a hand up his thigh. "Tell me how hard it's been?" She kneaded the tense muscle beneath her fingers.
"You're not helping," he growled. "And stop that," he added. Lifting her hand from his leg, he moved it to the steering wheel.
"Stop what," she questioned as she licked her upper lip with a languid swipe of her tongue.
"If you don't stop looking at me like that I'm going to bite the buttons off your blouse," Joel told her through clenched teeth.
She could see he was fighting for self-control as she shifted the car into gear. Changing the subject might be the best course of action for both of them. She was ready to bite a few buttons herself.
